In addition to the 10” of drain rock, the foundation walls are lined with a Superseal drainage dimple mat. The dimples in the membrane create drainage space and relieves the foundation walls from hydrostatic pressure, allowing the walls to breathe. Any moisture within the wall will evaporate outwards and condenses on the dimplemat, which then falls to the footing.
At the base of the footing, a sloped system of 4" perforated PVC drainage pipe collects excess storm water from the perimeter of the house. The first of 2 sumps removes the perimeter storm water and the second collects the run off from roof and deck drains.
